After one failed attempt to get macaroons at Maison Ladurée on the upper east side ( the line was around the block and about 45 mintues long), I got lucky friday afternoon and was finally able to eat the infamous macaroons. The place is a little intimidating and they call you Madame, but the macaroons were delicious nonetheless. My favorite was blackcurrant violet and I would happily go out of my way to eat them again.
